About CP Kelco
Unlocking Nature-Powered Success®
We’re a company of nature-based ingredient enthusiasts, strong collaborators, and big thinkers. Quality and consistency are at the core of our business. Some may view that as a tall order, but it’s a standard we have kept for approximately 90 years.
But our interests don’t stop at ingredients. We are devoted to customer service and community relationships. We are proud to be operating as a partner to the Okmulgee community for nearly 50 years.
CP Kelco takes community concerns seriously and regrets any inconvenience that operating the Okmulgee plant has caused. We are working diligently to address your concerns, including assessing ways to mitigate sound levels during operation and partnering with an acoustic engineering firm to implement a viable long-term solution. We thank our neighbors for their patience.
Please refer to the “Plant Updates” section for updates regarding the mitigation progress. Even if you don’t see a recent update, please know we are working hard to resolve the concerns and will endeavor to update you on actions that are significant.

CP Kelco launches Community Advisory Panel
CP Kelco is committed to working alongside the greater Okmulgee region to identify opportunities for collaboration and meaningful impact. As part of this commitment, CP Kelco has launched a Community Advisory Panel to foster open dialogue and explore additional ways the company can support our communities we call home.
The CP Kelco Community Advisory Panel includes residents, local business owners, and regional civic leaders. At the first meeting, participants shared their perspectives and discussed upcoming community priorities.
What to expect from the Community Advisory Panel:
- A forum for discussing local needs and areas where CP Kelco can provide support.
- Engagement with community organizations, businesses, and civic leaders to explore partnerships.
- Identifying ways to participate in regional initiatives to enhance education, workforce development, environmental sustainability and quality of life.
“We value the voices of our neighbors and believe that by working together, we can make a meaningful difference in the greater Okmulgee area,” said Plant Manager Dexter Day. “The Community Advisory Panel will allow us to listen, learn, and take action to support the long-term success of our communities.”
MARCH 25, 2025
Beginning March 14, 2025, CP Kelco is increasing its operations to include the second oxygen plant, running both sets of equipment daily from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m., seven days a week. This schedule has been set to minimize disruption to our neighbors during morning and evening hours.
This development is essential to ensure the company meets the growing need for oxygen used in the production of key ingredients and our obligations to food and drink companies who rely on Okmulgee-produced ingredients.
We recognize this increase in operations will result in higher sound levels emanating from the plant during the day as we work to find a solution or solutions that address this disturbance. We appreciate the patience and understanding of our neighbors as we address our operational needs along with the sound levels and their local impact.
As we bring the additional plant online and increase capacity, we remain dedicated to implementing a long-term noise mitigation solution. A key part of this effort is the installation of localized barrier walls, designed to reduce and redirect sound. We are actively refining the design to ensure these barriers are as effective as possible. A critical design review meeting is scheduled to finalize their placement and sizing, an important step toward implementation.
Once the design is confirmed and approved, we will provide an estimated timeline for installation and completion. In the meantime, we are grateful for your continued patience and support as we work toward a solution that meets both operational and community needs.
